ABC Morning Tour

Bangkok is a late city. Which means early morning belongs to us. Before the heat builds and the traffic thickens, we roll out into a city that is still stretching and yawning. Street vendors fire up their woks, monks make their rounds, and the backstreets smell like jasmine and fresh-cut pandan. You will not find this on a tour bus. We wind through quiet neighborhood lanes where residents nod hello like they know us (some of them do), past traditional communities that have been here far longer than the shopping malls that now surround them. A historic wooden walkway takes us over the water, and a stretch of road running alongside railway lines and under elevated highways gives you a Bangkok that feels genuinely lived-in. Your guide will fill you in along the way. Not just the facts, but the stories. The funny ones, the unexpected ones, the ones that make you understand why people who come to Bangkok once tend to come back. A ferry takes us across the Chao Phraya to the city's green lung, a leafy pocket of nature that feels like it has no business being inside a megalopolis. Elevated paths carry us through vegetation, past wildlife, with the city reduced to a distant hum. We stop for a cold drink and a proper breather before heading back by boat, Bangkok's skyline doing its best impression of impressive on the way home. Then a short ride back to the ABC office, where you will wonder how the city got so interesting before 10am.
